maiñ huuñ begāna-e-jahāñ 'afzal'
kyuuñ kare koī intizār mirā
bad-numā ḳhud ko maiñ samajhtā thā
aa.ina hī thā dāġh-dār mirā
main hun begana-e-jahan 'afzal'
kyun kare koi intizar mera
bad-numa KHud ko main samajhta tha
aaina hi tha dagh-dar mera
