sham dhundlane lagi aur meri tanhai
shaam dhuñdlāne lagī aur mirī tanhā.ī
dil meñ patthar kī tarah baiTh ga.ī
chāñd ubharne lagā yakbār tirī yaad ke saath
zindagī mūnis o ġham-ḳhvār nazar aane lagī
sham dhundlane lagi aur meri tanhai
dil mein patthar ki tarah baiTh gai
chand ubharne laga yakbar teri yaad ke sath
zindagi munis o gham-KHwar nazar aane lagi
