lāzim nahīñ is daulat-e-fānī pe dimāġh
kar shukr jo hāsil hai tire dil ko farāġh
mat teġh-e-zabāñ se kar diloñ ko ghā.el
bhar jaane pe zaḳhm ke bhī rah jaatā hai daaġh
lazim nahin is daulat-e-fani pe dimagh
kar shukr jo hasil hai tere dil ko faragh
mat tegh-e-zaban se kar dilon ko ghael
bhar jaane pe zaKHm ke bhi rah jata hai dagh
