Salam
Salaam is the genre of panegyrical poetry written in praise of Imam Husain and other characters of the battle of Karbala. Ethical themes and insights also find expression in salaams. It is mostly written in ghazal form. Meer Anis and Mirza Dabeer have iconic stature as Salaam poets.
