غم آلودہ روحوں کو دھونے کی خاطر
پیا پے پیے ہم نے ساغر پہ ساغر
عجب تھی شب بادہ نوشی عجب تھی
فضا پر حکومت فقط چاند کی تھی
دل اپنا نہ چاہا کہ ہم گھر کو لوٹیں
نہ یہ آرزو تھی کہ بستر میں پہنچیں
مگر آخر کار نشے کا غلبہ
بڑھا اس قدر ہوش ہم کو نہیں تھا
وہیں خاک کا ہم نے بستر بنایا
تھا سر پر فقط آسمانوں کا سایہ
