A dagger with a broad straight blade, the hilt of which comes up on either side of the wrist, and which is grasped by a cross-bar in the centre; a dagger, poniard, stiletto, dirk:—kaṭār-bandh, s.m. One who carries a dagger, an assassin:—kaṭār bhoṅknā, or kaṭār mārnā (-ko), To put a dagger into (one), to stab.
