Qurrat ul Ain, the youngest sister of Late Shamim Ahmad Shamim, took it upon herself to compile, organize and publish the literary works of her late her brother. Shamim has left behind a treasure of high quality Urdu literature by way of his writings and speeches that had attained Sub-Continental popularity in his life time. Shamim besides editing his highly popular Urdu Weekly ‘AINA’ was a reputed politician first as an MLA and then as a Member of the Lok Sabha.
After his tragic death in his mid-forties Qurrat plunged into collecting his published and recorded matter. She shaped these works in to a series of publications called ‘AINA-NUMA’ beginning in 2000. The release of AINA-NUMA has become an annual cultural and literary event in the social life of Kashmir and beyond. Twelve editions of AINA-NUMA have been released so far. All the editions have received wide acclaim in social, literary, cultural and political spheres in Kashmir, across the country and beyond.
