Shehzad Anjum Burhani was born in Burhanpur, a historic city in Madhya Pradesh. He completed his schooling up to the intermediate level under the Bhopal Board and later earned a Master’s degree in Urdu from Devi Ahilya University, Indore.  

After qualifying for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under the University Grants Commission (UGC), he pursued a Ph.D. at Aligarh Muslim University under the supervision of Professor Abul Kalam Qasmi. His doctoral research focused on "Protest Poetry After Independence."  

To date, he has published five books.
