When Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was going to visit the universities of England, at the same time his friend Maulvi Imdad Ali was going to Mecca for Hajj. On this occasion Akbar composed his couplet.
sidhāreñ shaiḳh ka.aba ko ham inglistān dekheñge
vo dekheñ ghar ḳhudā kā ham ḳhudā kī shaan dekheñge
sidhaaren shaiKH kaba ko hum inglistan dekhenge
wo dekhen ghar KHuda ka hum KHuda ki shan dekhenge
