Hasan Najmi Sikandarpuri is known essentially for his patriotic poetry. He eulogised progressive ideology and spoke in a strong voice of protest in his poetry and fiction. He was born on 01 November, 1913, at Sikandarpur in Balia district. He received his early education at Gorakhpur. He worked for Bengal Nagpur Railways. In 1938, he was transferred to Kharagpur and after his retirement from there, he chose to settle in Delhi.
He published two collections of his poetry called Kasak and Shab Chiraagh. He also published two collections of his short stories entitled Mom ki Aurat and Phool Khile Weerane Mein.
He passed away in 1989.
