ḳhaar kī har nok ko majrūh kar dene ke ba.ad
lauT jaanā hai mujhe barg-o-samar ke aas paas
dīdanī haiñ chāhatoñ kī narm-o-nāzuk laġhzisheñ
gardish-e-ayyām meñ shām-o-sahar ke aas paas
duur ik ḳhāmosh bastī kī galī meñ dekhnā
hai tamannā mutma.in maḳhdūsh ghar ke aas paas
chhā ga.ī tūfān ke hoñToñ pe shaitānī hañsī
dekh kar kashtī shikasta sī bhañvar ke aas paas
jab koī raushan nishāñ miltā nahīñ hai dhund meñ
DhūñDhtā huuñ naqsh-e-pā rāh-e-guzar ke aas paas
phuul pattoñ kī fazā se saj ga.ī duniyā marī
hai kahāñ armāñ mirā la.al-o-guhar ke aas paas
be-niyāzī vaqt se mujh meñ na qaa.em ho sakī
maiñ sadā hāzir rahā taaza ḳhabar ke aas paas
kūcha-e-dildār kā rañgīñ zamāna 'sāhnī'
aaj bhī ābād hai zaḳhm-e-jigar ke aas paas
aarzu aabaad hai bikhre khanDar ke aas pas

KHar ki har nok ko majruh kar dene ke baad
lauT jaana hai mujhe barg-o-samar ke aas pas
didani hain chahaton ki narm-o-nazuk laghzishen
gardish-e-ayyam mein sham-o-sahar ke aas pas
dur ek KHamosh basti ki gali mein dekhna
hai tamanna mutmain maKHdush ghar ke aas pas
chha gai tufan ke honTon pe shaitani hansi
dekh kar kashti shikasta si bhanwar ke aas pas
jab koi raushan nishan milta nahin hai dhund mein
DhunDhta hun naqsh-e-pa rah-e-guzar ke aas pas
phul patton ki faza se saj gai duniya mari
hai kahan arman mera lal-o-guhar ke aas pas
be-niyazi waqt se mujh mein na qaem ho saki
main sada hazir raha taza KHabar ke aas pas
kucha-e-dildar ka rangin zamana 'sahni'
