aisā vo zindagī kā qalaq de gayā mujhe
maiñ us ko bhuul jā.ūñ ye haq de gayā mujhe
us se bichhaḌ ke ho gayā duniyā-shanās maiñ
vo saare zindagī ke sabaq de gayā mujhe
pahle to us ne haath meñ mere qalam diyā
phir chalte chalte saada varaq de gayā mujhe
ḳhud to vo jā ke ḳhaak ke bistar pe so gayā
apnī bulandiyoñ ke ufaq de gayā mujhe
kitne hasīn us kī mohabbat ke rang the
jab shaam ho ga.ī to shafaq de gayā mujhe
