darāz hai shab-e-ġham soz-o-sāz saath rahe
musāfiro mai-e-mīnā-gudāz saath rahe
qadam qadam pe añdheroñ kā sāmnā hai yahāñ
safar kaThin hai dam-e-sho.ala-sāz saath rahe
ye koh kyā hai ye dasht-e-alam-fazā kyā hai
jo ik tirī nigah-e-dil-navāz saath rahe
koī rahe na rahe ek aah ik aañsū
ba-sad ḳhulūs ba-sad imtiyāz saath rahe
ye mai-kada hai nahīñ sair-e-dair sair-e-haram
nazar-afīf dil-e-pāk-bāz saath rahe
