dil ko vīrāna kahoge mujhe ma.alūm na thā
phir bhī dil hī meñ rahoge mujhe ma.alūm na thā
saath duniyā kā maiñ chhoḌūñgā tumhārī ḳhātir
aur tum saath na doge mujhe ma.alūm na thā
chup jo huuñ koī burī baat hai mere dil meñ
tum bhī ye baat kahoge mujhe ma.alūm na thā
log rote haiñ merī bad-nazarī kā ronā
tum bhī is rau meñ bahoge mujhe ma.alūm na thā
tum to be-sabr the āġhāz-e-mohabbat meñ 'hafīz'
is qadar jabr sahoge mujhe ma.alūm na thā
