guzartā vaqt bhī sailāb sā lage hai mujhe
hare haiñ jab se mire dil meñ zaḳhm yādoñ ke
ye dasht aur bhī shādāb sā lage hai mujhe
nikal na aa.e kisī roz toḌ kar siina
ye dil bhī qatra-e-sīmāb sā lage hai mujhe
tamām 'umr luTāyā jahāñ lahū maiñ ne
vo shahr aaj bhī be-āb sā lage hai mujhe
