har-nafas wardat hai yaro
har-nafas vārdāt hai yaaro
kashmakash meñ hayāt hai yaaro
bazm meñ itnī gahrī ḳhāmoshī
raaz kī koī baat hai yaaro
āshnā ajnabī meñ bhed nahīñ
har taraf jaise raat hai yaaro
mere dil ko qarīb se dekho
markaz-e-hādsāt hai yaaro
dostī aur is zamāne meñ
kis qadar be-sabāt hai yaaro
ġham ke afsāne yuuñ na aam karo
ye mirī kā.enāt hai yaaro
ḳhud-farāmosh ho chalā hai 'vasī'
kis kā ye iltifāt hai yaaro
