hayat-e-dard musalsal bhi intishaar bhi hai
hayāt-e-dard musalsal bhī intishār bhī hai
qarār DhūñDne vaalo kahīñ qarār bhī hai
shamīm-e-gul se sulagtā hai dāman-e-ehsās
ki terī nik.hat-e-poshāk sho.ala-bār bhī hai
zamāna ḳhud nazar aatā nahīñ zamāne ko
ki dil kā aa.ina ālūda-e-ġhubār bhī hai
zabāñ se kahiye to kyoñ kahiye us kī mahfil meñ
vo dil kā haal jo sūrat se āshkār bhī hai
ye chāhtā hai ki kaunain kā ḳhudā ban jaa.e
vo aadmī jise thoḌā sā iḳhtiyār bhī hai
bahār le ga.ī jin vahshiyoñ ko sahrā meñ
chaman ko un ke palaTne kā intizār bhī hai
Thahar ke dīda-e-nargis meñ os kī būñdeñ
ye kah rahī haiñ ki gul hañs ke ashk-bār bhī hai
nigāh-e-rashk se dekho na ahl-e-sarvat ko
bahār hai magar us kā kuchh e'tibār bhī hai
zamāna ek kasauTī hai dostoñ ke liye
haiñ rāzdār bahut koī ġham-gusār bhī hai
milī hai ishq se 'sīmā' jise bhī daulat-e-ġham
usī ko sozish-e-har-zaḳhm ḳhush-gavār bhī hai
hayat-e-dard musalsal bhi intishaar bhi hai
qarar DhunDne walo kahin qarar bhi hai
shamim-e-gul se sulagta hai daman-e-ehsas
ki teri nikhat-e-poshak shoala-bar bhi hai
zamana KHud nazar aata nahin zamane ko
ki dil ka aaina aaluda-e-ghubar bhi hai
zaban se kahiye to kyon kahiye us ki mahfil mein
wo dil ka haal jo surat se aashkar bhi hai
ye chahta hai ki kaunain ka KHuda ban jae
wo aadmi jise thoDa sa iKHtiyar bhi hai
bahaar le gai jin wahshiyon ko sahra mein
chaman ko un ke palaTne ka intizar bhi hai
Thahar ke dida-e-nargis mein os ki bunden
ye kah rahi hain ki gul hans ke ashk-bar bhi hai
nigah-e-rashk se dekho na ahl-e-sarwat ko
bahaar hai magar us ka kuchh e'tibar bhi hai
zamana ek kasauTi hai doston ke liye
hain raazdar bahut koi gham-gusar bhi hai
mili hai ishq se 'sima' jise bhi daulat-e-gham
usi ko sozish-e-har-zaKHm KHush-gawar bhi hai
