kal talak ham the ḳhunuk chhāñv meñ palne vaale
aaj haiñ tez kaḌī dhuup meñ jalne vaale
barq hai ātshīñ-lāvā hai ki gul hai kyā hai
apnī tārīf batā aag ugalne vaale
kaun ab tere liye giit bunegā ai dost
chand lamhoñ meñ faqat ham haiñ pighalne vaale
hai muqaddar meñ tire sirf samandar kā sukūt
mauj kī tarh se gir gir ke uchhalne vaale
āb-o-gil kā hai ḳhamīr apnā magar ai 'parvāz'
ham vo bartan nahīñ barsāt se galne vaale
kal talak hum the KHunuk chhanw mein palne wale
aaj hain tez kaDi dhup mein jalne wale
barq hai aatshin-lawa hai ki gul hai kya hai
apni tarif bata aag ugalne wale
kaun ab tere liye git bunega ai dost
chand lamhon mein faqat hum hain pighalne wale
hai muqaddar mein tere sirf samandar ka sukut
mauj ki tarh se gir gir ke uchhalne wale
aab-o-gil ka hai KHamir apna magar ai 'parwaz'
