karte hain wahi log jahan taza-tar aabaad
karte haiñ vahī log jahāñ tāza-tar ābād
har daur meñ rakhte haiñ jo siina sharer-ābād
pur-shor gulistāñ haiñ na ab dasht-o-dar ābād
kyā jaane kahāñ ho ga.e ahl-e-nazar ābād
Thahrāv kisī shai ke muqaddar meñ nahīñ hai
duniyā hai vo jaada jise kahiye safar-ābād
ḳhvāboñ ke sanam-ḳhāne salāmat haiñ to yūñhī
fitnoñ se rahegā ḳham-e-zulf-o-kamar ābād
hamsā.egī-o-rabt kī ḳhushbū bhī kahīñ hai
kartī haiñ bahāreñ to nagar par nagar ābād
naġhmoñ se jahāñ raushnī-e-dard thī kal tak
sannāTe se hai aaj vo shāḳh-e-shajar ābād
'kausar' hai suḳhan-tāb mirā shahr-e-taḳhayyul
is shahr meñ haiñ aaj bhī ā.īna-gar ābād
