ashk āñkhoñ meñ to hoñToñ pe tarāne aa.e
phir tasavvur meñ hī ham ruuTh ke badle pahlū
phir ḳhayāloñ meñ hī vo ham ko manāne aa.e
un ke kūche meñ jo ik 'umr guzārī ham ne
ye kahānī bhī vo ġhairoñ ko sunāne aa.e
ye bhī sach hai ki har ik zaḳhm milā hai un se
aur vahī chupke se marham bhī lagāne aa.e
jazba-e-dīd-e-tasavvur ko uThā.e 'āshā'
apnī āñkhoñ meñ liye ḳhvāb purāne aa.e

ye bhi sach hai ki har ek zaKHm mila hai un se
aur wahi chupke se marham bhi lagane aae
jazba-e-did-e-tasawwur ko uThae 'asha'
apni aankhon mein liye KHwab purane aae
