sad bahaaron se lala-zar hai dil
sad bahāroñ se lāla-zār hai dil
fasl-e-gul hai ki ḳhār-ḳhār hai dil
shām-dar-shām ik na.e Dhab se
zaḳhm-jūyā-e-nau-bahār hai dil
ḳhuub vāqif hai rāz-e-hastī se
sab ke sīnoñ meñ be-qarār hai dil
hausla chāhiye rafūgar meñ
reza-reza hai tār-tār hai dil
kitne 'armān' dafn haiñ is meñ
naqsh-e-fānī meñ ik mazār hai dil

sham-dar-sham ek nae Dhab se
zaKHm-juya-e-nau-bahaar hai dil
KHub waqif hai raaz-e-hasti se

reza-reza hai tar-tar hai dil
kitne 'arman' dafn hain is mein
naqsh-e-fani mein ek mazar hai dil
