shu.ūr-e-fitrat-e-insāñ kā hai bedār ho jaanā
kahīñ majbūr ban jaanā kahīñ muḳhtār ho jaanā
dikhā kar ik jhalak us kā pas-e-dīvār ho jaanā
yahī to āshiqoñ ke haq meñ hai talvār ho jaanā
mire so.e hue jazbāt kā bedār ho jaanā
kisī behosh kā hai ḳhud-baḳhud hushyār ho jaanā
karūñ maiñ ḳhuun kā da.avā to pesh-e-dāvar-e-mahshar
qayāmat hai magar qātil se āñkheñ chaar ho jaanā
shikast-e-be-sutūn-o-mauj-e-jū-e-shīr shāhid haiñ
nahīñ āsān rāh-e-ishq kā hamvār ho jaanā
sharaf hai ye faqat ik ashraf-ul-maḳhlūq insāñ kā
fazā-e-ālam-e-imkāñ kī had se paar ho jaanā
ba-qaul-e-'mīr' ye insān par tohmat-tarāshī hai
kisī majbūr kā mumkin nahīñ muḳhtār ho jaanā
yuuñ hī yād-e-ḳhudā aa jaatī hai mujh ko kabhī 'sho.ala'
ki jaise sote sote ḳhvāb se bedār ho jaanā
shuur-e-fitrat-e-insan ka hai bedar ho jaana
kahin majbur ban jaana kahin muKHtar ho jaana
dikha kar ek jhalak us ka pas-e-diwar ho jaana
yahi to aashiqon ke haq mein hai talwar ho jaana
mere soe hue jazbaat ka bedar ho jaana
kisi behosh ka hai KHud-baKHud hushyar ho jaana
karun main KHun ka dawa to pesh-e-dawar-e-mahshar
