rāsta de diyā ujāloñ ko
moving her tresses from her face
for the rays of light she made place
jaate jaate jo muḌ ke dekh liyā
aur uljhā diyā ḳhayāloñ ko
turning back she looked while going away
and sent my thoughts into a deeper fray
ek halkī sī muskurāhaT se
us ne hal kar diyā savāloñ ko
when a slight smile on her lips did play
all my questions were answered today
mar ga.e ham to dekh lenā tum
yaad ā.eñge husn vāloñ ko
If I die, then, 'Shafaq' you will see
All the beauties will remember me
