yuuñ ba-zāhir dekhe to yaar sab
vaqt paḌne par yahī bekār sab
maslahat hai haq nazar-andāz kar
haq kahā jis ne chaḌhe vo daar sab
ham anā kī poTlī thāme rahe
haath ḳhālī the hue vo paar sab
ai ḳhudā tū ne banā.ī thiiñ vo kyā
jis kī āñkhoñ se hue sarshār sab
kuchh sukūñ shāyad mayassar aa.egā
chhoḌ ke dekhā thā ye ghar-bār sab
koī aisā vaqt to phir aa.e shams'
niiñd se jag jaa.eñ phir ik baar sab
yun ba-zahir dekhe to yar sab

haq kaha jis ne chaDhe wo dar sab
hum ana ki poTli thame rahe
hath KHali the hue wo par sab
ai KHuda tu ne banai thin wo kya
jis ki aankhon se hue sarshaar sab
kuchh sukun shayad mayassar aaega
chhoD ke dekha tha ye ghar-bar sab
koi aisa waqt to phir aae shams'
nind se jag jaen phir ek bar sab
