is ummīd par shāyad
vo idhar se guzregā
aur ek pal ruk kar
ḳhud se vo ye bolegā
apnī barq-raftārī par maiñ ḳhud pashemāñ huuñ
zebra crossing se mujh ko ek pal de de
maiñ jahāñ pe ḳhud ruk kar
ḳhud pe bhī nazar Dālūñ
aur bas yahī lamha
ḳhvāhishoñ kī jhīloñ par
barf kī tarah jam kar
mere zehn-o-dil par bhī
zebra crossing sī
lineñ banā degā
aur ye bhāgte lamhe
kuchh ghaḌī ko Thahre to
tum bhī yaad aaoge ham bhī yaad ā.eñge
main khaDi thi zebra crossing par

KHud se wo ye bolega
apni barq-raftari par main KHud pasheman hun
zebra crossing se mujh ko ek pal de de
main jahan pe KHud ruk kar
KHud pe bhi nazar Dalun
aur bas yahi lamha
KHwahishon ki jhilon par
barf ki tarah jam kar
mere zehn-o-dil par bhi
zebra crossing si
linen bana dega
aur ye bhagte lamhe
kuchh ghaDi ko Thahre to
tum bhi yaad aaoge hum bhi yaad aaenge
