Abdul Hafiz ‘Saahil’ Qadri (where Saahil is the takhallus or pen name) was born in India and moved to UK at the age of 5. He currently resides in Leicester (UK).
Following schooling, he proceeded with aalimiyyah (scholarship in theology) culminating with a Master’s at Portsmouth university, UK.
Since graduation, Saahil Qadri has served at various institutes in different academic capacities, in addition to playing supervisory roles for many organizations. He is also the editor of a reputed journal.
His late father, Maulana Abdul Ahad Qadri, was an esteemed scholar himself, a distinguished poet and an author of significant works. He was the younger brother of the renowned and acclaimed Mufti Abdur-Raheem Lajpuri Sahib - a prominent scholar from Surat, Gujarat.
"Maqame Ishq" is a collection of poetry, consisting mainly of ghazals (where every couplet is typically based on a different theme) but contains other genres of poetry too.
