जो हम पे गुज़रे थे रंज सारे जो ख़ुद पे गुज़रे तो लोग समझे जब अपनी अपनी मोहब्बतों के अज़ाब झेले तो लोग समझे वो जिन दरख़्तों की छाँव में से मुसाफ़िरों को उठा दिया था उन्हीं दरख़्तों पे अगले मौसम जो फल न उतरे तो लोग समझे उस एक कच्ची सी उम्र वाली के फ़लसफ़े को कोई न समझा जब उस के कमरे से लाश निकली ख़ुतूत निकले तो लोग समझे वो ख़्वाब थे ही चँबेलियों से सो सब ने हाकिम की कर ली बै'अत फिर इक चँबेली की ओट में से जो साँप निकले तो लोग समझे वो गाँव का इक ज़ईफ़ दहक़ाँ सड़क के बनने पे क्यूँ ख़फ़ा था जब उन के बच्चे जो शहर जाकर कभी न लौटे तो लोग समझे
