Ahtimam Sadiq, born as Ahtimam-ul-Haq, is a distinguished poet of contemporary Urdu literature. He was born on November 11, 1993, in the town of Gulariha, Balrampur district, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Kitabullah (late), was a farmer, while his mother, Nazma Khatoon, is a homemaker. Rooted in a literary and culturally rich environment, his early years were shaped by a deep appreciation for language and poetry.
His academic journey began at Jamia Arabia Qasim-ul-Uloom in his hometown, where he received his early education, followed by secondary studies at Madrasa Arabia Khair-ul-Uloom, Domariaganj. Seeking higher education, he moved to Delhi, where he pursued a Bachelor's degree in Urdu (2018) and a Master's degree in Urdu (2020) from Jamia Millia Islamia. His passion for Urdu literature led him to Rekhta Foundation, one of the most prestigious organizations dedicated to the promotion of Urdu, where he has been working since 2022.
Ahtimam Sadiq’s poetic journey began at the age of fifteen, but he formally entered the literary landscape in 2016. His poetry is a fine blend of classical tradition and modern sensibilities, resonating deeply with contemporary themes and emotions. With a natural inclination toward literature and an upbringing that nurtured his artistic spirit, he has emerged as a significant voice in modern Urdu poetry, carrying forward the legacy of poetic expression with elegance and depth.
