Aqeel Abbas Jafri is not a new name in the field of research. He began his journey through the realm of general knowledge, authoring several notable books including 366 Days, Sifr Se 100 Tak, Jahan-e-Maloomat, Hai Haqiqat Kuchh, Ek Saal Pachaas Sawaal, Kaun Banay Ga Crorepati, and Quaid-e-Azam Maaloomat Ke Aaine Mein.
His first political book Pakistan ke Siyasi Wadeere created a stir upon its release and popularized the term “Siyasi Wadeere” (Political Landlords) in the political discourse of Pakistan. Following this, he authored several other works on political subjects, such as Pakistan ki Nakam Saazishein, Pakistan ki Intikhabi Siyasat, Quaid-e-Azam ki Zaujiyati Zindagi, Liaquat Ali Khan Qatl Case, and Pakistan ka Qaumi Tarana: Kya Hai Haqiqat, Kya Hai Fasana?
He also edited a collection of rare and valuable writings by Shahid Ahmad Dehlvi on music under the title Mazaameen-e-Moseeqi.
Aqeel Abbas Jafri has written scripts for numerous programs for Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television, including: Saat Din, TV Encyclopedia, Tele Show, Hum Mustafaavi, Yeh To Mujhe Pata Hai, University Challenge, Jahan Nama, Ek Saal Pachaas Sawaal, SAARC Quiz, Millennium Quiz, UN Quiz, Jo Jaane Woh Jeetay, Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahin, Beesween Sadi, Saal Bah Saal, and Raat Gaye. He also developed the questions for ARY’s Kya Aap Banenge Crorepati? and Geo TV’s Yeh Ghar Aap Ka Hua.
Jafri is considered a representative poet of his generation, with his works frequently appearing in reputable literary journals. In 2000, he received Radio Pakistan’s awards for Best Na’at Poet and Best National Songwriter.
He has represented Pakistan in international poetry recitations and seminars across the USA, Canada, UK, China, India, and UAE. His collection of ghazals titled Raasta and his religious poetry collection Tarotaza are both currently under publication.
His magnum opus Pakistan Chronicle is the result of twenty years of dedicated work. This monumental book follows the format of international chronicles and meticulously documents every moment in Pakistan’s history.
In recognition of his contributions to research and Pakistan studies, he has been honored with the Quiz Excellence Award (2004) by the Pakistan Quiz Society, Heroes of Pakistan Excellence Award (2010) by Wisdom Pakistan Forum, and the Civic Education Award (2010) by the Centre of Civic Education Pakistan.
