Arshad Jamal Sarim hails from Azamgarh, a historic city in Uttar Pradesh. He was born on August 15, 1978 in Azamgarh. He completed his primary education and then his scholarship from Jamiat-ul-Falah Azamgarh. He studied BUMS from Aligarh Muslim University and obtained his MD from Bangalore. He is currently holding the post of Assistant Professor in Muhammadiyah Medical College, Malegaon.
Arshad Jamal Sarem is an exemplary poet of the new literary generation whose entire poetry is a valuable expression of his experience and inner self. His poetry is a poetry of whispers and self-talk in which there is also a description of his innermost thoughts which relate to his external experiences. Well acquainted with the technicalities of ghazal, his writings are imbued with diversity, innovation, and freshness, and the charm of his tone and the style of his expression make him stand out among his contemporaries. His first collection of poetry has come to light under the name of ‘Sukhan-Zaad’ and has been well received in the literary circles.
