Dr. Bhawana Srivastava is an able civil servant and an eminent poetess, hailing from Varanasi, representing the Ganga-Jamuna culture of East. Born and brought up in Varanasi in 1981, she completed her Doctoral degree (PhD in Botany) from the 'capital of knowledge' - Banaras Hindu University.
Currently, she is spearheading Regional Higher Education Department, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, as Finance and Accounts Officer.

Her poems got published recently in combined publication in Parvaaz-e-Ghazal. She got appreciated and honoured at various coveted cultural programs like 'All India Mushayra in remembrance of Dr. Amritlal Ishrat' with famous poetess and poets like Shabeena Adeeb and Jauhar Kanpuri. She was praised at Ulooq Mahotsav, Mahakavi Vidyapati Mahotsav, and Jashn-e-Bharat for reciting ghazals and geets. Of late, she was awarded with 'Veerangana Puraskar' at Gorakhpur. She is blessed with true 'gift of gab', and continuously keeps presenting live in various online and offline cutlural conventions and mushayras. Her melodious voice is her asset.
