ये आँखें राह तकती हैं तुम्हें ये मन बुलाता है

ज़माने में किसी से अब वफ़ाएँ कौन करता है

क्या बताऊँ ज़िंदगी में किस क़दर तन्हा रहा

ये आँसू रोक रखे हैं ब-मुश्किल दिन गुज़ारे हैं

हादसे उम्र-भर आज़माते रहे

हज़ारों रंज सहते हैं हज़ारों ग़म उठाते हैं

बहुत चाहा कि कुछ कह दें ज़बाँ फिर भी नहीं खोली

अन्दर बिल्कुल कड़वे लेकिन बाहर मीठे होते हैं

बा'द तुम्हारे देख न पाया दर्पन कैसा होता है

लड़कपन में किसी की 'आशिक़ी अच्छी नहीं होती

सुनाएँ हाल-ए-दिल कैसे किसी को हम ज़माने में

न हम से पूछिए आख़िर सफ़र से क्या कमा लाए

कभी वो लोग थोड़ी सी ख़ुशी से ख़ुश नहीं होते
