Harsh Adeeb, whose real name is Harsh Kinnu, was born in Ajhota village in Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his early education at Meerut University and Lucknow University. From his student days, he loved writing poetry and ghazals. Because of this interest, he started taking part in poetry events and *mushairas*. His ghazals were published in many famous magazines, which gave him recognition in the literary world.
In 1983, he moved to Mumbai and joined the film industry. He started working as an assistant director with the famous filmmaker Prakash Mehra. Later, he became a film director and directed movies like *Lauh Purush*, which starred big actors like Dharmendra and Jaya Prada. As a songwriter, he worked with well-known music composers like Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen, and Anand-Milind. His contribution to film music was also very important.
