रूह-ए-ज़माँ मकाँ मिले राज़-ए-अयाँ निहाँ मिले

नर्म शगुफ़्ता चाँदनी हँसता हुआ कँवल कहूँ

बराए-ख़ैर शर से बरसर-ए-पैकार हो जाए

दिलबरों के राज़ का महरम हुआ

सच है ग़म-ए-फ़िराक़ में हम रो नहीं सके

गर दिल में तबस्सुम का इक तीर उतर जाए

वक़्त ने दिल की तबीअ'त में वफ़ा रक्खी है

मेहर-ओ-माह-ओ-अंजुम का कुछ निशाँ नहीं मिलता

हर जगह बंदिश-ए-आदाब की पर्वा न करें

न नज़र की दीदा-वरी रही न जिगर की बे-जिगरी रही

हर शय में नुमायाँ है जल्वा आँखों से मगर मस्तूर भी है

मेहरबानी को तिरी आरिज़-ए-ताबाँ समझे
