Madan Mohan Danish was born on September 8, 1961, in the populous district of Blia, Uttar Pradesh. With Danish’s earlier years as a student passing in his village, his was a life full of ups and down. Many years of his life were spent in Bhopal and then the search for employment brought him to Gwalior. And it was in these two cities where his higher education took place. In Gwalior, he held several important positions in Akash Vani. Today, he is known throughout the country for his poetry.

Madan Mohan Danish’s simple and effortless style of poetry has afforded him a distinguished place among all. The landscape drawn by his words, which look straight into the eyes of life’s bitterness, is distinctly discernable from afar. He embodies both unitary and collective sentiments of an individual in such a way that the aesthetic essence of the couplet barely lessens. He also surprises the reader with his fresh expression and new thoughts; it’s like the faint whisper of a wave gushing away the reader in its current. Death, love, life, night, etc. are his favorite motifs, intricately interwoven in couplets. His style of expression is utterly novel; it’s as if he speaks directly to his reader. In small meters, Danish has a distinct mastery, and his couplets etch deep into our memory. The fact that his poetry collection becomes sold out as soon as it’s published, testifies the wide acclaim he enjoys among his readers. In Mushairas, his name is a crowd-drawer and a stamp of success for any event. His poetry has transcended all borders and is read in several nations including, Dubai, Qatar, Sharjah, Pakistan, United States, Canada, and so on. So far, two of his books have come to light, the latest being ‘Asman Fursat Mein Hai’, which has seen a number of editions being published due to its huge demand. He has also been awarded several important literary awards, including the Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy Award. He is currently based in Gwalior and has retired from All India Radio, Gwalior.
