Nawab Meer Yaseen Ali Khan was born in Hyderabad on July 4, 1908 into a Jagirdar family. His grandfather Nawab Meer Hassan Ali Khan had a jagir which contained two villages. His grandfather was a student and also a friend of Daag Dehlavi. Nawab Meer Yaseen Ali Khans father was Mir Asifuddin Khan. Nawab Meer Yaseen Ali Khans family was highly educated and he grew up in the company of learned people who were well known in literary circles.
Nawab Meer Yaseen Ali Khan was educated in Hyderabad prior to going to Aligarh University to get his BA degree in 1929 and MA degree in 1931. He then came back to Hyderabad and worked for the tax department till he retired in 1971.
Nawab Meer Yaseen Ali Khan published extensively in literary magazines from a very young age while still a student. His poems, short stories, novels and essays were published in well know literary magazine such as Humayun, Saqi, Musheer Deccan, Shahab and others. Nawab Saheb had a close working relationship with Niaz Fatehpuri, who was an eminent Urdu writer and editor of Nigar magazine. Nawab Saheb published extensively in Nigar. Nawab Saheb was also a friend and acquaintance of many of the most famous personalities of the Indian sub-continent in his time such as Moulvi Abdul Haq, Hasrat Mohani, Khawja Hassan Nizami, Moulana Mohammad Ali and Shaukat Ali and others. Nawab Saheb was the son in law of Padma Bhusan Dr. Ghulam Yazdani (OBE) who was an eminent archaeologist and historian of India.
Nawab Meer Yaseen Ali Khan was also active in numerous Urdu societies. He was the head of Bazm e Adab Urdu, Hyderabad and also Aligarh Old Boys Association in London.
Nawab Meer Yaseen Ali Khan died in London in 1996.
