Muhammad Afzal Khan hails from Kakrala, Budaun district (Uttar Pradesh), where he was born on July 2, 1993. He received his early education from Falah e Aam Islamic Inter College, Kakrala, before moving to Kerala for higher studies. At Jamia Islamia Shantapuram, he studied Arabic, English, and Islamic Shariah, while also completing his Intermediate through NIOS and a BA from Maulana Azad National Urdu University.

His literary inclinations were nurtured by the activities of Idara-e-Adab-e-Islami in Kerala. Later, he pursued an MA in Urdu from Aligarh Muslim University, where he benefited immensely from the university’s rich literary and academic environment. After completing his master’s, he pursued a PhD under the supervision of renowned poet Professor Syed Sirajuddin at AMU.

Currently, Muhammad Afzal Khan is serving as a faculty member at the Center for Distance Education, Aligarh Muslim University.
