अब के बिखरा तो मैं यकजा नहीं हो पाऊँगा

आख़िरी वक़्त तिरी राह से हट जाएँगे

हिर्स के बाब में यूँ ख़ुद को तुम्हारा कर के

मैं ख़ाक हूँ सो यही तजरबा रहा है मुझे

कुछ इस अदा से मोहब्बत-शनास होना है

साथ उल्फ़त के मिले थोड़ी सी रुस्वाई भी

रंग लाती भी तो किस तौर जबीं-साई मिरी

वस्ल की रुत हो कि फ़ुर्क़त की फ़ज़ा मुझ से है

वस्ल के मरहले से हिज्र की मंज़िल की तरफ़

थे कभी हम भी हक़ीक़त अब फ़साना हो गए

इतना तो ज़िंदगी पे मुझे इख़्तियार हो

बदन हसीन नहीं कोई जामा-ज़ेब नहीं

किस ने सोचा था कि यूँ बैर करेगा मुझ से
