Profile of Safar Naqvi

Born : 01 Jul 1998 | Bareilly, Uttar pradesh

Safar Naqvi was born on July 1, 1998, in the district of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. After completing his early education in his hometown, he enrolled at Minto Circle School, Aligarh Muslim University. He completed his Bachelor's (Science) and Master's (Urdu) degrees from the same university. Currently, he is conducting research in Urdu at Delhi University.

Safar Naqvi is a poet who presents the elements of Karbala not just as a historical event, but as a living experience in his ghazals. The devastation of Karbala, the mourning of the martyrs, and the mention of their sacrifices emerge as deep philosophical reflections in his poetry, reflecting the depth of human experiences and emotions. In his poetry, the mention of Karbala is like a moving reality that shows new ways to confront the oppression of the world.

His poetic language is full of delicacy and refinement, maintaining tradition while presenting it in a modern style that aligns with contemporary demands. The beauty of Urdu-Farsi words in his poetry, their rhythm, and impact resemble a kind of magic, touching hearts and opening the doors of the mind. His ghazals do not just reflect the brilliance of tradition, but they also breathe new life into it.

In Safar Naqvi's poetry, topics like life, beauty, humanity, and God are explored as parts of a laborious journey that connects the inner struggles of an individual to outer realities. When he talks about beauty, he speaks of the world’s splendor and the hidden tales of sorrow beneath its trees. The state of human confusion and wandering in darkness is like a mysterious river, leading to new questions and answers with every moment.

In his ghazals, the mention of chains, weeping, mourning, and elegies is not just an expression of grief, but a moment of contemplation that makes a person aware of the reality of his existence. His elegies are not merely about mourning; they represent a form of protest that makes one confront the hardships and realities of life.

Safar Naqvi discusses the self and the universe in such a way that they seem like two aspects of the same story. In his ghazals, the depth of the self and the mystery of the universe merge, creating a new cosmic scene. His ghazals not only present the realities of the universe but also invite the reader to take another step in their spiritual journey.

Safar Naqvi's ghazals are like a beautiful experience, testifying to the greatness of Urdu poetry while also exploring the depths of human existence. His words reveal a layered understanding of life's pains and joys, profoundly impacting the heart and mind.
