The real name of Saghar Azmi was Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Aazmi, He was native of Azamgarh but he shifted to Barabanki in1972 and established a clinic along with her wife Dr. Sultana. Besides medical profession, being a good player he enjoyed volleyball and cocetrated on shayari. He recited his kalam in Dewa Mushaira and instantly became very popular. His popularity kept on increasing. No All India Mushayarawas complete without his participation. He is one of the shayars of his times who attended Mushairas at places word over, like Dubai, Sharjah, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia etc.
