Saif Irfan belongs to the historic and intellectually rich land of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. It is here that his thoughts were nurtured, and his poetic sensibilities took shape. He received his early education at Central Public School, Azamgarh, where he completed his schooling up to the twelfth grade. His passion for higher education led him to Aligarh Muslim University, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Botany. He further pursued a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from the same institution. At present, he is engaged in teaching at Aligarh College of Education.  

Among his favorite poets are Mirza Ghalib, Mir Taqi Mir, Ameer Minai, Ahmed Faraz, Irfan Siddiqui, Noon Meem Rashid, Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi, Mohammad Alvi, Ahmed Mushtaq, and several other contemporary poets.  

Growing up in the literary atmosphere of Azamgarh, Saif Irfan's poetry is adorned with the delicacy of thought, flowing effortlessly like a bird humming in its natural rhythm. There is no linguistic complexity or artificial expression in his verses, yet each couplet reflects a depth of emotion and a fresh perspective on life.  

His poetry captures the ordinary moments of life, the silent stories scattered among people, and the delicate sentiments of nature with such simplicity that it feels like someone sitting at their doorstep, narrating the vast expanse of fields stretching far beyond. This honesty and spontaneity make his poetry resonate deeply with the masses. His ghazals carry a distinctive essence, raising questions that compel every reader to introspect and delve into the depths of their own existence.
