bharī duniyā meñ nahīñ lagtā

jaane kis chiiz kamī hai abhī

bhari duniya mein ji nahin lagta

jaane kis chiz ki kami hai abhi

na ab vo yādoñ chaḌhtā dariyā na fursatoñ udaas barkhā

yūñhī zarā kasak hai dil meñ jo zaḳhm gahrā thā bhar gayā vo

na ab wo yaadon ka chaDhta dariya na fursaton ki udas barkha

yunhi zara si kasak hai dil mein jo zaKHm gahra tha bhar gaya wo

niiñd aatī nahīñ to subah talak

gard-e-mahtāb safar dekho

nind aati nahin to subah talak

gard-e-mahtab ka safar dekho

ab aise-vaise logoñ ke maiñ naaz uThā.ūñ kis ke liye

wo shahr mein tha to us ke liye auron se bhi milna paDta tha

ab aise-waise logon ke main naz uThaun kis ke liye

ye kah ke chheḌtī hai hameñ dil-giraftagī

ghabrā ga.e haiñ aap to bāhar le chaleñ

ye kah ke chheDti hai hamein dil-giraftagi

ghabra gae hain aap to bahar hi le chalen
