Sher of Rahi Fidai
har ek shāḳh thī larzāñ fazā meñ chīḳh-o-pukār
havā ke haath meñ ik āb-dār ḳhanjar thā
har ek shaKH thi larzan faza mein chiKH-o-pukar
hawa ke hath mein ek aab-dar KHanjar tha
lazzat kā zahr vaqt-e-sahr chhoḌ kar koī
shab ke tamām rishte farāmosh kar gayā
lazzat ka zahr waqt-e-sahr chhoD kar koi
shab ke tamam rishte faramosh kar gaya
kisī ko saayā kisī ko gul-o-samar degā
harā-bharā hai daraḳht-e-rivāj rahne do
kisi ko saya kisi ko gul-o-samar dega
hara-bhara hai daraKHt-e-riwaj rahne do
havas-girafta havāo nigāheñ nīchī rakho
shajar khaḌe haiñ saḌak ke qarīn be-parda
hawas-girafta hawao nigahen nichi rakho
shajar khaDe hain saDak ke qarin be-parda
hādsoñ ke ḳhauf se ehsās kī had meñ na thā
varna nafs-e-mutma.in saffāk hotā ġhāliban
hadson ke KHauf se ehsas ki had mein na tha
warna nafs-e-mutmain saffak hota ghaaliban
