Sher of Rahi Fidai
har ek shāḳh thī larzāñ fazā meñ chīḳh-o-pukār
havā ke haath meñ ik āb-dār ḳhanjar thā
har ek shaKH thi larzan faza mein chiKH-o-pukar
hawa ke hath mein ek aab-dar KHanjar tha
lazzat kā zahr vaqt-e-sahr chhoḌ kar koī
shab ke tamām rishte farāmosh kar gayā
lazzat ka zahr waqt-e-sahr chhoD kar koi
shab ke tamam rishte faramosh kar gaya
havas-girafta havāo nigāheñ nīchī rakho
shajar khaḌe haiñ saḌak ke qarīn be-parda
hawas-girafta hawao nigahen nichi rakho
shajar khaDe hain saDak ke qarin be-parda
kisī ko saayā kisī ko gul-o-samar degā
harā-bharā hai daraḳht-e-rivāj rahne do
kisi ko saya kisi ko gul-o-samar dega
hara-bhara hai daraKHt-e-riwaj rahne do
sabza-zāroñ kī sharāfat se na khelo qat.an
tum havā ho to ḳhalāoñ se lipaT kar dekho
sabza-zaron ki sharafat se na khelo qatan
tum hawa ho to KHalaon se lipaT kar dekho
ye kaisā gul khilāyā hai shajar ne
samar banñe ko ġhuncha muntazir hai
ye kaisa gul khilaya hai shajar ne
samar banne ko ghuncha muntazir hai
hādsoñ ke ḳhauf se ehsās kī had meñ na thā
varna nafs-e-mutma.in saffāk hotā ġhāliban
hadson ke KHauf se ehsas ki had mein na tha
warna nafs-e-mutmain saffak hota ghaaliban
