Though Urdu poetry has had poets from all walks of life, but businessmen are a rarity. Ali Ahmad who wrote under the pen Rifa’at, was a businessman by profesion despite being a journalist as well. He was born on 1^st july 1918 in Faisalabad. He also worked as an editor of Satlaj. He was the resident of Bahawalpur. Ek Aadmi Teen Chehrey, Arabi Adab and Lakht Lakht are the titles of his collections. He died on 1.. July 1985 in Bahawalpur.
