Azmat un Nisa, Born in Hyderabad,India. Her real name was Azmat un Nisa , after her marriage, she was known as Azmat Abdul Qayoon Khan. She was an important poetess of her time and a representative of old Hydrabadi cultre. She belonged to a very respected family, her mother was a poet too but never published her poetry. Azmat has four collections of poetry: "Rug Gul"( award winner from Uttar pradesh Urdu Academy), "Zar Gul" , "Safar o Saher", "Azmat e watan" and one collection of articles, "Azmat e khyaban"
She used to broadcast radio talks and attend Mushairas. In 1961, "Adabistan", Karnool, in a ceremony gave her tiltle of "Azmat e Ghazal". A book by the same name, was compiled by Salahuddin Nayyer that has articles of famous writers on Azmat's poetry and personality. She was the founder member and president of "Mehfil e Khwateen" ,a famous organisation of women writers and poets in Hyaderabad.
