Humaira Rehman was born on November 24, 1957, in Pakistan. She has worked for Radio Pakistan,Multan, and later in London for the BBC. She now teaches Urdu as a foreign language at New York University and is an active member of the Pakistan immigrant community. She has published two highly acclaimed collections of poetry, Intisab and Indimal.
