ये तेरा ताज नहीं है हमारी पगड़ी है
ये सर के साथ ही उतरेगी सर का हिस्सा है
ज़रा ये धूप ढल जाए तो उन का हाल पूछेंगे
यहाँ कुछ साए अपने आप को पैकर बताते हैं
कुछ तलब में भी इज़ाफ़ा करती हैं महरूमियाँ
प्यास का एहसास बढ़ जाता है सहरा देख कर
रगों में ज़हर-ए-ख़ामोशी उतरने से ज़रा पहले
बहुत तड़पी कोई आवाज़ मरने से ज़रा पहले
