Muhammad Tufail was born on 8 August 1948, in Amritsar. He did his graduation from Dayal Singh College, Lahore. For some time, he worked in a publication house that published many literary books. After that, he served at a government department. Besides Urdu, he also wrote poems in Punjabi. Ibaaratein and Zarmalal are the collections of his poetry. He writes under the pen name, Najeeb.
