Nisar Ahmad was born on 10 October 1961. His ancestors hailed from Domail region of tehsil Jand of district Atak (Pakistan). He did his masters in Urdu and B. Ed from Punjab University and pursued his M. Phil from Allama Iqbal National Open University. He had been the teacher of Urdu in the Government College of Commerce of Rawalpindi. He started his poetry in the 1980s under the pen name, Nisaar. Baarat Gulaabon Ki and Har Sada Musafir Hai are the collections of his poetry.
