Imral was born on 4 August 1936 in Kanjaah, Punjab. His father passed away when he was in 8^th standard. Against all odds, he continued his studies and became a graduate. He did various jobs during this period. After passing his tenth class, he worked for ten years in Kohinoor Textiles mills of Faisalabad. Later, he became Assistant Director at the Agricultural Development and Supplies Corporation of Lahore. He used the pen name, Roohi Kanjaahi that is his pen name. Simteieyn, Be Missal Afsana and Muntakhib Shahkaar-E-Mizahiya Shairy are the collections of his works.
